About the cabin

What to know about Teiči before you book

This is the long answer to the question what kind of place this is. No marketing language: what the cabin is, what the nightly rate covers, what costs extra, and when you should choose something else.

What kind of cabin this is

Teiči is a 70 m² A-Frame cabin in Andrieviņi, Varakļāni parish, on the edge of the Teiči Nature Reserve. Both gable ends are glazed, so the rooms stay light even in winter. The cabin is let to one group only.

It is a design cabin in genuinely rural surroundings — no neighbouring windows and no street noise, but with all the everyday comforts.

  • A fully equipped kitchen with a coffee machine, hob and tableware
  • A Romotop Stromboli fireplace and air conditioning
  • Beds, Wi-Fi and a TV with Go3 and Netflix
  • An 18 m² terrace facing the Teiči Nature Reserve and the pond
  • A grill with a grate and skewers, board games and a Bluetooth speaker

What is included and what costs extra

The nightly rate is for the whole cabin for two guests. It always includes the outdoor hot tub — there is nothing to add for it, and it cannot be booked separately.

  • The whole cabin — not a room in a shared building
  • An outdoor spa tub held at 37–39 °C, available all year
  • Towels, robes, bed linen and toiletries
  • 1.5 hectares of grounds with a pond and an 18 m² terrace

Charged separately: the sauna with its Huum stove (70 € for up to 3 h), each additional adult beyond two guests (20 € for the whole stay) and children aged 3 to 18 (10 € for the whole stay). Children under 3 stay free.

A booking is confirmed by a deposit of 50 € per night. Check-in from 16:00, check-out by 12:00.

Where the cabin is

The cabin stands in Andrieviņi, Varakļāni parish, Madona municipality, on the edge of the Teiči Nature Reserve — the bog landscape opens up from the terrace itself. The nearest shop and petrol station are in Varakļāni.

The reserve itself can only be visited with a guide from the Nature Conservation Agency, from 1 June to 31 October and only by prior arrangement. A freely accessible alternative with a view over the bog is the Kristakrūgs viewing tower, 7 km away.

When this place is the wrong choice

Better to say it now than to disappoint you on arrival.

  • The cabin is meant for a small group — it is too small for larger celebrations or company events
  • There is no playground — the cabin suits a stay for two better
  • There is no public transport connection — you will need a car

If you are travelling with children and want a playground and more space to run, our other house, Odumiņi, is a few hundred metres away. We have written the comparison honestly — including where the other one is the better choice.
