Teiči Nature Reserve
Teiči Nature Reserve is the largest nature reserve in Latvia — 19,771 hectares of raised bog in the Madona district, established in 1982. It is one of the largest and least disturbed raised bogs in the Baltics, listed under the Ramsar Convention since 1995 and part of the Natura 2000 network. Nature Studio «Teiči» sits right at the edge of the reserve — the bog landscape opens up from the cabin terrace.
You cannot enter the reserve on your own
Teiči is a strict nature reserve, not a freely accessible nature park. You may only enter accompanied by a Nature Conservation Agency employee, and only between 1 June and 31 October. The Sildu nature trail and Siksala island are likewise open only on a guided tour.
Tours must be booked in advance — group sizes are limited and the popular summer dates fill up early. If a reserve visit matters to you, book it before you choose your holiday dates.

How to see the bog without a tour
The bog landscape can be viewed freely and in any season from the Kristakrūgs viewing tower — 27 metres tall, 7 km from the cabin, on the Jēkabpils–Rēzekne highway. From the top a wide view opens over the reserve, and access is free with no booking required.
